Dream Scheme

The Witney Lions Dream Scheme was launched in January 2017.  The Lions Dream Scheme is looking to support and inspire a number of local projects which are trying to make a real difference to the lives of people in our community. The Scheme is funded through the generous donations of the local community during our Christmas float collections.  The Lions Dream Scheme for 2019-2020 will run from November 18th 2019 to January 24th 2020.

The 2018-2019 Dream Scheme Awards were given to the following organisations on 25th February 2019:-

Witney Day Centre - Funds to support on-going entertainment costs at the Day Centre.


ARCh (Assisted Reading for Children) - To purchase the ARCh Book Box which contains books and games to use with children who are struggling with their reading.


The Wychwood Saplings and  B.O.D.S. - To purchase professional stage flats (scenery kits) for 2 children's amateur drama groups.


Fitness Instructor for the elderly - To purchase fitness equipment in order to run classes for the elderly at eg. Witney Day Centre


Freeland Pre-School - To purchase an introductory set of large wooden bricks.  These bricks provide a new resource for the children, aimed specifically at developing their creativity and innovation skills.


The Barrowers - To help finish a project that is turning an old disused pond area into a fruit and vegetable area that will be used by Madley Brook Primary School and Springfield Special School.


Hailey Games Afternoon club for the elderly - To purchase a further 2 card tables in order that a weekly board games afternoon can be run for the elderly (and lonely).


1st Witney Brownies - To purchase handbooks, activity cards and other items for every new member following a revision of the Girl Guiding programme.
 
New Yatt Riding for the Disabled - To fund acquisition of 3 adjustable riding hats for junior riders


1st Boys Brigade - To help send 11 boys on an adventure week-end at a cost of £75 each.


5th Witney Brownies - To purchase handbooks, activity cards and other items for every new member following a revision of the Girl Guiding programme.
